Utility Billing
The City of Canal Winchester offers water, sanitary sewer, and storm water service to city residents. Under the supervision of the Finance Director, the Utility Billing Clerk is responsible for the billing of services, the collection of utility payments, and the maintenance of accounts.
Bills are mailed to residents on a bimonthly schedule and are due in February, April, June, August, October, and December.
To ensure bills are mailed to the appropriate resident/address, please notify the Utility Billing Clerk of any address changes as soon as possible.
The City offers utility service to residents within corporation limits. Although your address may be in Canal Winchester, it does not mean you reside within corporation limits. Unsure if you reside within those limits? Enter your address on our interactive map below to see if it falls within the City. You can also verify your address by searching your address on the county auditor's website and referencing "City/Village" under Tax Status.
Tenant names can be added to utility accounts without proper documentation. However, property owners are ultimately responsible for the payment of utility services and will be billed if a tenant does not pay.
If you are selling or buying property in the city, we will prepare a final bill as a courtesy prior to closing. We require 48 hours notice for any final reading date. If a final meter reading and billing is not done, the new property owner becomes liable for any prior unpaid utility bills.
